
Tyus Edney, 2024
The 5-10 Edney was a distributing All-CIF point guard for Ron Palmer at Long Beach Poly, leading Poly to two CIF titles while averaging 18 points and 7 assists a game as a senior. He then had a great college career at UCLA with the 1995 NCAA title, including his game winning length of the court drive against Missouri, and was named NCAA West Regional MVP. He was selected for the Naismith Award as the country’s top player under six feet. He was the three-time All-Pac-10 selection. He ranks among the top three all-time in Bruin assists and steals.
The Long Beach Century Club member had a 15-year professional career between the NBA where he was a second-round draft pick of Sacramento, making second team All-Rookie, and Overseas, including two All-European selections. He won three European titles and was Italian Cup MVP in 2003. He then went into college coaching at UCLA, University of San Diego and currently Pepperdine. He was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Pac-12 Hall of Honor in 2014.
