Tayshaun Prince, 2022

Tayshaun was a Parade and McDonald’s High School All-American at Dominguez, and the 1998 California Mr. Basketball. He had a dominating prep career as his team won four CIF titles and two California State championships. His #21 HS jersey was retired in January of 2023. The 6-9 Prince went onto play four NCAA tournament years at Kentucky where he was a two-time collegiate All-American, the 2001 SEC Player of the Year, twice SEC team champion, and a four-year starter.

He had 41 points in a 2022 NCAA playoff game that put Kentucky into the ‘Sweet 16.’ He was the first-round draft pick, #23 overall, of the Detroit Pistons in 2002. He was a part of the 2004 NBA championship team and a four-time All-NBA Defensive Team member in 11 years with the Pistons. He finished his 14-year NBA career in 2016. He also played on the 2007 USA National Team that qualified for the Olympics, and then was an important part of the 2008 Beijing gold medal winning team. He has worked for the NBA Memphis Grizzles since 2017, and is currently Vice-President of Basketball Affairs.
