Mitchell Butler, 2022

Mitchell was the three-time CIF Player of the Year at Oakwood High School in North Hollywood, a Parade and McDonald’s All-American, plus the top ‘Best in the West’ player at his wing position. He led Oakwood to its only CIF Small Schools Championship as a junior, including scoring 50 in a CIF playoff game. Butler finished HS with 2,682 points (9th all-time) and 1445 rebounds (5th all-time), while averaging 28.8 ppg (7th all-time).

The 6-5 Butler went onto a standout career at UCLA, playing four years in the NCAA Tournament, including the Elite 8, and appearing in more games (130) than any other player in Bruin history at that time. Known for his defense, he was rated by ‘Bleacher Report’ as one of the 50 greatest UCLA players of all-time. He went onto a 11-year professional career from 1993-2004, playing for Washington, Portland, Cleveland as well as overseas and the ABA. He won a CBA title in 2003, and after retiring worked in NBA administration before becoming a sports agent. He was President of 20Twenty Sports Management, before becoming President of Perpetual Sports 1. He was an actor in the basketball movie ‘Blue Chip.’
