Jeanette Pohlen, 2023
Jeanette was named the California Gatorade Player of the Year as a Brea-Olinda high school senior in 2007, plus the state’s Miss Basketball, and the CIF Player of the Year. She was also named an All-American and CIF Player of the Year as a junior, a California’s All-State team selection in each of her four years, plus she was a McDonald’s, EA Sports, Max Preps, Parade, and SLAM prep All-American. She holds B-O records for career points (2,196) and rebounds (1,140). She accepted a full scholarship to Stanford, and also starred as a 5-11 guard, participating in four Final Fours and two title games. She was a member of the gold medal-winning USA team in the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
As a college senior, she was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year, and averaged career highs of 14.5 ppg and 4.75 apg while shooting 41.7 percent from 3-pt range. She broke Stanford’s single-season record for 3-pt FGs made with 96. She was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team and was also named to the John R. Wooden and USBWA All-America Teams. She was the 9th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever. She became the only rookie to lead the WNBA in 3-point shooting (.471). She helped the Fever to the 2012 WNBA championship. She is currently working for Stanford as Director of Player Development.
