The 6-4 High School All-American guard was a rare two-time LA City Player of the Year at Reseda HS (3 in LA City history), playing for his father Lonnie, and led them to the City Finals in 1969 as one of the top players in history. Greg averaged 29 and 30 points a game his last two seasons. A three-year starting point guard at UCLA, he was part of two NCAA title teams, and the record 88 game winning streak, while graduating with academic honors. He played a year in the NBA and a year in the ABA, plus four years of professional basketball in Germany. After Lee retired from basketball, he went onto a Hall of Fame professional beach volleyball career, including winning a record 13 tournaments in a row with partner Jim Menges (he won 29 in his career in 39 finals). He started coaching Clairemont High School varsity basketball in San Diego in 1985 while also teaching advanced math and kept playing on the beach. He was inducted in the California Beach HOF in 1997. He and his wife Lisa were married for 48 years, before Lee passed away on September 21, 2022.
