The identical twins have meant everything the past 35 years for grassroots basketball in Southern California, and throughout the nation. Their first camp was at age 16 and they formed Double Pump, Inc. at age 20. They know virtually every coach in the nation who couldn’t wait to read their California Cage Report, which scouted the top players in the West. They also organized high school camps, coaches’ clinics, exhibition games, tournaments, and the Pump-N-Run AAU teams. More than 20,000 student-athletes have competed at a Double Pump event. Over 1,000 have earned Division 1 scholarships, and even more at the Division 2 and Division 3 levels.
What is impressive is at least 30 players have played or are currently playing in the NBA. Known for their red hair, the Pumps, along with their mother Carole, founded the Harold Pump Foundation in 1999 to honor their late father, who had lost his fight with cancer in the same year. Each year their Foundation dinner and Golf tournament has grown.
The Harold Pump Foundation Gala has become one of the premier events attended by past and present sports superstars and celebrities. The Pump Brothers have helped companies such as Adidas, EA Sports, Best Buy, Luxe Hotels, and Original Retro Brand clothing attain relevance in the youth and collegiate sports markets. They both attended Cal State Northridge.
