Brandon was one of the quickest high school stars starting at Dominguez HS in Compton, and finishing as the 2008 Naismith HS Player of the Year at Oak Hills Prep when he averaged 35.5 ppg. He also won Max Preps and EA Sports Player of the Year. The 6-1 point-guard, and California Mr. Basketball as a junior, was also honored by Parade, McDonald’s, and Gatorade All-American teams as his team went 41-1 and he was ranked as the #1 prep player in the country.

He became the first American HS player to skip college and play professionally under the NCAA & NBA rules. He was supposed to go to Arizona, but played professionally in Europe for one season. Then he was the NBA’s first round draft pick by the Milwaukee Bucks (10th overall) in 2009 and made the NBA All-Rookie Team, starting all 82 games as a 20-year-old. He set a Bucks rookie record with 55 points in a game, breaking Kareem’s mark. Despite injuries he played professionally through 2018 with Detroit, Orlando, New York, and Washington before retiring. He was invited to be a part of Milwaukee’s NBA championship parade in 2021
