Bill Duffy, 2027

Bill was a tremendous player at Damien HS, scoring over 1,000 points in All-CIF career, where he was the 1977 CIF 3A Player of the Year, Pomona Valley Player of the Year, and earned 2nd Team All-American honors. He played college basketball for both Minnesota and Santa Clara. The 6-4 guard was the Broncos leading player as a senior (15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists per game), scholar-athlete of the year, and a District 8 All-American. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. After retiring professionally, Duffy founded BDA Sports Management, one of the top black-owned agencies in the world before selling to WME where he became the Head of Basketball. He was the 1998 and 2002 Black Sports Agent of the Year. He was selected for the 2003 Ryan Gordy Foundation Trailblazer Award. He has also been instrumental in the NBA expanding its reach overseas, especially in Asia. He was recognized by ‘Sports Illustrated’ as one of the nation’s most influential people in professional sports. He was inducted into the Santa Clara Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Damien HS Athletics Hall of Fame 2nd class in 2016.
