Terri Bamford, 2023
Terri is one of the greatest high school coaches of all-time, primarily at La Jolla Country Day School (LJCDS) since 1997. Her teams have posted an impressive 524- 162 record, winning 14 League titles and 13 San Diego Section CIF titles. Her teams have made 12 Southern Regional Championship appearances, winning eight and have appeared in eight state championship games, winning state titles in 2001, ‘02, ’12, ‘15. She was named the CalHi Sports Coach of the Year in 2001/2012. Over 40 players have earned All-League/All-CIF honors, including five San Diego Section Players of the Year, two Wade Trophy winners 2004/2013, and two USA Olympians.
She was 2020 WBCA High School National Coach of the Year. She was previously coach at San Pasqual HS (she played HS basketball there), and led the Eagles to the CIF Runner-up spot in 1990. She also coached at Mira Costa and Palomar Colleges. Bamford played for UC Irvine, graduating in 1983, and helped coach the 1984 team. She founded the San Diego Waves basketball club in 2001.
